GUARMA AND MEXICO
The switch to Mexico as the primary location was a pivotal moment in Red Dead Redemption, bringing about a change in pacing, scenery, characters, and so much more. While the switch to Guarma in Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t even close to being that pivotal, and is quite short lived, encompassing less than half a dozen main missions, it is still very reminiscent of what the first game did with Mexico. Both changes happen roughly halfway through the game, taking he player to a completely new location, and focusing, for a while, on the local struggles of that specific location. Mexico is, of course, much more important to the first game than Guarma is to the second one, but again, the similarities are plain for everyone to see regardless.
