Rockstar’s megahit from last year, Red Dead Redemption 2, is still going strong with its online component. Besides that we have so many rumors of the PC version that’s bound to come at some point. Those two things help keep the game in the news near-indefinitely, but now we have some more juicy rumors to sink our teeth into about not just the game, but also the one before it.

In an anonymous post from someone claiming to have connections to Rockstar on Reddit, they claim that RDR2 will get a single player DLC similar to the first game’s wacky Undead Nightmare. Only instead of zombies, you’ll have to face off against aliens in the old west.

That’s pretty big in and of itself, but he also makes a potentially bigger claim that the first Red Dead Redemption has a remake in development as well. He says that most of the new features in 2 will be part of this remake, as well as an extended map and new dialogue to connect the two games. Allegedly, it’s so close to completion, Rockstar is hoping to get it out either late this year or early next.

As always with leaks of this nature, we file it under rumor and this one definitely seems like it should be taken with a big grain of salt. The alien themed DLC isn’t too far out there, especially if they want to recapture some of the feeling of Undead Nightmare, but a full remake of the first game that’s so close seems pretty unlikely. However, leaks of these nature have been true before, so you never really know. We’ll just have to wait and see. In the time being, we’ll just have to be satisfied with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
