In a franchise that delves with all kinds of viruses, mutations and strange happenings, it’s somewhat expected that Resident Evil’s foes would go from terrifying to laughable. They can’t all be the next Nemesis, Mr. X or Licker, sadly. Let’s take a look at 15 enemies and bosses from the series that were hilariously awful.

Leeches – Resident Evil Zero

Leeches can be pretty gross but being attacked by a swarm of leeches in Resident Evil Zero skirts the line between weird and cheesy. It’s like the franchise has finally jumped the shark, which is saying something when it’s already had zombie sharks. There was an attempt to make the leeches out to be a big deal, especially since they’re used to create the t-Virus, but seeing them band together to form a replica of James Marcus feels more awkward than threatening.
