Something is afoot here. Recently, we’ve reported that Resident Evil 2 got a new achievement that is related to Resident Evil 3. It’s all rather mysterious, but now a new picture related to that could be pointing at some unexpected new content for the acclaimed remake.
The achievement first came in an update to the PC Steam version of the game with a simple description of finding a letter left by Jill, the main protagonist of Resident Evil 3. There’s a lot to speculate about that, with some thinking it could be a similar situation to the Nintendo 64 release of Resident Evil 2 back in the day that featured a letter from Jill in the STARS office as a retroactive connection between the two games. But when it updated for the Xbox One, not only was the achievement there, but so was the background that came with it. The picture shows Jill standing behind Kendo, which you can see below.
All of the achievements for the Xbox One version of RE2 are screenshots captured in-game, so it raises some speculation the new update could come with a tad more than just a random letter. Could it be a small prologue section featuring Jill? A clip or a trailer? Hopefully, we will know soon. In the meantime, a new demo just dropped for Resident Evil 2 that you can read all about through here.
