Capcom announced updated sales figures for the Resident Evil 3 remake and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne in its recent fiscal report. However, it also updated its Platinum Titles list, indicating sales figures for other games as of December 31st 2020. The Resident Evil 2 remake, for example, sold 7.8 million units while Resident Evil 7: biohazard is at 8.5 million units sold.
Devil May Cry 5 sold 4.1 million units with 200,000 additional units sold since September 30th. It’s interesting because the Special Edition launched in November for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Whether this is included in the overall sales figures or not is unknown.
Other significant sales milestones include Street Fighter 5 selling 5.2 million copies till date and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy crossing one million units sold. Capcom has Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village coming up in March and May 2021 respectively so it should be interesting to see how they fare against their predecessors.
