Resident Evil 2 Remake’s Fantastic Gameplay Showcased in New Trailer

This classic descent into horror has never looked better.

Finally revealed at Sony’s E3 2018 presser, Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake looked even better than we could have hoped. Along with the E3 2018 showcase trailer, another “announcement” trailer was released containing more gameplay. Check it out below.

Resident Evil 2 is perhaps one of the more well-regarded titles in series, if not the survival horror genre. It takes place in Raccoon City, under threat of zombie infestation, as rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and student Claire Redfield try to survive. Both characters have their own campaigns that intertwine at various points.

The pulse-pounding horror is beautifully captured thanks to the RE Engine, used to develop Resident Evil 7. Atmospheric lighting, gruesome textures and realistic facial expressions are just the tip of the fidelity iceberg. Resident Evil 2 Remake also delivers a modern control scheme and the newer over the shoulder camera seen in titles like Resident Evil 4-6 to help ease new players in. The game is out on January 29th 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
