Why is there a NEST 2? Perhaps to get around the fact that Resident Evil 2’s lab was called NEST which Jill doesn’t visit. Maybe it’s to incorporate a lab setting with the Dead Factory and hence the entire location was named NEST 2. In Resident Evil 3 remake, you can actually find a document that refers to NEST, further indicating the retconning going on.
