Capcom recently announced the Resident Evil 3 remake, and if it’s anything like the excellent Resident Evil 2 was, we’re going to be in for one hell of a time. Like its immediate predecessor, it will be using the RE Engine, so it goes without saying that it’s going to be a technical showcase. To put that into perspective, YouTube user Cycu1 has uploaded a comparison video, which you can view below.

The video shows Resident Evil 3 – the remake and the original – side by side. It goes without saying, considering the twenty year gap between the two, that the former looks significantly better, but the real purpose of the video is to highlight how the character designs and models of various characters have bee changed in the remake. Keeping in like with Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 7 before that, RE3 is going for a much more realistic and grounded look, which is, of course, reflected in the characters as well. Take a look below.

Resident Evil 3 is out on April 3, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. To get more info on the way character designs have changed (and some other details and a bit of gameplay footage), head on over here.
