The newest weekly report from Media Create, covering video game hardware and software sales in Japan for last week, is now out, and not much has changed from last week. As was the case last week, Resident Evil 7 is at the top of the charts (although its sales were disappointing then, and they remain disappointing now), with Pokemon staying on the second place spot due to a monstrous hold. Other strong performers include Yokai Watch 3, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, Minecraft Vita, DanganRonpa 3, and Grand Theft Auto V.

On the hardware side of things, the PS4 continues to maintain its lead, selling 36,000 units this last week, with the 3DS coming in at a healthy second place, with 26,000 units sold. Nothing else on the hardware end is anything to write home about.

You can check out the full Media Create database, including this week’s sales charts, on NeoGAF. Me, I just continue to remain happy that the Japanese games industry seems to have improved and stabilized.
