Resident Evil 7 Confirmed for Xbox Play Anywhere Support

Buy digital on PC or Xbox One and receive it free for the other.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: biohazard is only five days away but it’s confirmed for Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere feature. This means that buying the digital version on either Xbox One or Windows 10 will result in you receiving the other platform’s digital copy for free. The news was confirmed by Xbox boss Phil Spencer on Twitter.

While it’s good news to receive a free digital copy of the game, it should be noted that this applies for Windows 10 and not Steam where Resident Evil 7 is also being sold. Given the problems that the Windows Store has been having for the past few months, it remains to be seen whether Capcom’s first person horror will also suffer.

Nonetheless, Resident Evil 7: biohazard is one of the few third party titles making use of the Xbox Play Anywhere function. It’s out on January 24th for Xbox One, PC, PS4 and on PlayStation VR (though apparently exclusively for only a year).
