Leaker Aesthetic Gamer is "95 percent positive" of a reveal at the June 6th showcase, alleging "a lot of buzz in the grapevine."

Following his last rumor about a Resident Evil 9 reveal “100 percent” happening this year, leaker Aesthetic Gamer, aka Dusk Golem, believes that it could appear at Summer Game Fest. The showcase is set for June 6th, 2 PM PDT and features over 60 partners, including Capcom.

In a series of tweets, the leaker says they can’t provide “100% confirmation, no one’s directly told me or the like.” However, they’re “like 95% positive we’re on the verge of Resident Evil 9 being revealed at Summer Game Fest. This is the first time behind the scenes there’s a lot of buzz in the grapevine, lots of rumblings & the sorta activity behind the scenes that usually are signs we’re about to get a Resident Evil game announced.

“Add to that Capcom’s Resident Evil social media accounts seem to be getting more active suddenly, Andi from Screenfire Germany’s claim (I put stake in his word here), and I’d say if you’re tuning into Summer Game Fest on June 6th hoping that Resident Evil 9 will show up, there’s an incredibly high chance you won’t be disappointed. I’m getting into hype mode for it myself.”

There’s also the supposed tease that Capcom inserted in a celebratory video for Resident Evil 4 remake selling over ten million units. The studio has otherwise been silent since announcing the sequel’s development in July 2024. Koshi Nakanashi of Resident Evil 7: biohazard and Revelations fame is at the helm.

Of course, there have been numerous rumors, the latest claiming it would be an open-world title with multiplayer before a reboot in 2021 (with a new Resident Evil: Revelations also allegedly cancelled). Resident Evil 4 protagonist Leon S. Kennedy is still the lead, though. Stay tuned for more details and updates as Summer Game Fest draws near, and check out the hype trailer in the meantime.
