It’s that time of the year again when major publishers come together for a week (or so) of big announcements. No, not E3, but the colloquial Summer of Gaming, kicked off by the Summer Game Fest showcase on June 6th at 2 PM PT.
To help generate the appropriate amount of hype, host and producer Geoff Keighley has released a trailer set to “ZEN” by Blackpink’s Jennie Kim. It features a mix of recent high-profile games, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Split Fiction, South of Midnight, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages, etc. What’s interesting are the upcoming titles.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach figures prominently, which makes sense given that director Hideo Kojima will be on stage, potentially to reveal the final trailer. ARC Raiders is present amid rumors of a shadow drop alongside Hell is Us, set to receive a demo later today. You can also spot Directive 8020, Marathon, Mafia: The Old Country, Mixtape, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and Lies of P: Overture.
Of course, this isn’t a guarantee these titles will appear or receive announcements. Nevertheless, with over 60 companies announced thus far as partners, it’s shaping up to be a big event. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
