Resident Evil Survival Unit

Just a week after announcing Resident Evil: Survival Unit for Android and iOS, Aniplex, JoyCity and Capcom have announced that they have kicked off pre-registrations for the game on Google Play and App Store. The title is set to launch in full across Japan, Korea, other regions of Asia and North America later this year.

Along with announcing pre-registrations, the companies have also provided an in-depth rundown on what gameplay in Resident Evil: Survival Unit will entail. Set to be a strategy game that takes place in a parallel, divergent timeline from the mainline Resident Evil franchise, Survival Unit will also involve some form of multiplayer.

The player starts out by waking up in a mysterious hospital after having been used as a test subject by Umbrella Corporation. Over the course of time, players will learn the truth about Umbrella and will try to escape. The game features a completely new storyline that will also feature appearances by beloved characters from across the Resident Evil franchise.

After escaping, players will get to set up their own base, which can be further upgraded as they get further in the game. The base – a lavish mansion – will also feature appearances by characters like Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine. A merchant will also be available through whom players can grab new weapons and other pieces of equipment that they might need for their missions.

Over time, players will get to partake in defense battles against powerful creatures. In these battles, players will have to make use of their own special abilities, as well as those of other characters, ultimately culminating in “high-stakes” real-time combat.
