Resident Evil Village will see the launch of the Winters’ Expansion later this year, and it’ll bring plenty of new content to the survival horror game. That’ll include a new story expansion in Shadows of Rose, a third person mode for the base game’s campaign, and, of course, new content for its arcade mode, The Mercenaries.

Capcom has released a new trailer to focus on the latter in particular. Titled The Mercenaries: Additional Orders, the upcoming update for the mode will add new characters and stages, and with this new trailer, Capcom has revealed new details on those.

The three new characters – Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu – each have unique properties. Chris, for instance, can punch his opponents, and also has an Onslaught Gauge, which, when filled up, grants significant improvements to movement speed, reload speed, and attack damage. He also comes equipped with a Target Locator, a weapon that those who’s finished the base game’s campaign will be familiar with.

Heisenberg, meanwhile, has a huge hammer that allows you greater melee capabilities, while you can also swing it around and slam it into the ground to charge electricity. He also has electromagnetic abilities, of course, which entails being able to activate his Magnetic Field, pulling enemies in toward you and even making some of your own attacks stronger. Interestingly, Heisenberg can also summon a Soldat Jet onto the battlefield to aid in combat, though it self-destructs upon running into walls.

Finally, there’s Lady Dimitrescu, everyone’s favourite vampire. Standing tall over the battlefield and most enemies she faces, Lady D has has a Thrill Gauge that increases either when she attacks or when she uses her “Lady’s Lipstick” item. Increasing the gauge unlocks new attacks and increases movement speed and nail damage. When it’s maxed out, you can summon one of Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters to the battlefield.

Meanwhile, the two new stages shown off by Capcom are called Bloody Village and Bloody River. Capcom has also revealed the pre-order bonus for the Winter’s Expansion– a “Street Wolf” outfit that Rose can equip in the Shadows of Rose story expansio. Check out the trailer and new screenshots below.

Resident Evil Village is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Winters’ Expansion launches October 28. You can get more details on everything new that’s coming to Resident Evil Village over the next few months through here.
