Resident Evil games have pretty much been guaranteed sellers for Capcom over the least few years, with every successive entry starting with 2017’s Resident Evil 7 having performed well for the Japanese company. Last May, we saw the launch of Resident Evil Village, which has, unsurprisingly, enjoyed critical success as well.
As of October 2021, the game had crossed 5 million units of worldwide shipments and digital sales, and as you’d expect, it has continued to sell well since then. In its most recent quarterly earnings briefing, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Village’s sales now stand at over 5.7 million units worldwide.
Meanwhile, Resident Evil 7 continues to sell well, having sold over 1 million units throughout 2021 once again. The total sales for the Resident Evil series now stand at 123 million units.
Resident Evil Village is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. At E3 2021, Capcom confirmed that it had started working on DLC for the horror shooter, but more details on that are yet to be revealed.
