Rocket League Now Has 50 Million Players

What an amazing achievement.

Rocket League

Psyonix’s Rocket League has gone on to become incredibly successful for them. What started out as a small, unassuming indie game release has become one of the most popular games in the world, and a multiplayer phenomenon to be reckoned with.

Just how popular is Rocket League? Well, Psyonix announced today that the game has hit 50 million players worldwide, which is a staggering amount by any metric. As a reminder, 50 million players is more than halfway there to GTA5’s sales already (although, to be very clear, sales and players are not directly comparable- I’m using GTA5 here as a point of reference so that the layperson can get an idea of just how massive a number it is).

Going forward, thanks to continued support (such as the upcoming, long awaited implementation of cross platform parties), the game should only continue to grow more and more popular. Psyonix must be truly over the moon with how well this has gone for them. Rocket League is out now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
