Arguably the most anticipated console launch since the original Wii, the PlayStation 4’s release date is news the industry waits for with bated breath. Although recent rumors and insider leaks have all insisted on an October launch for Sony’s fourth home console, new rumors arising just hours ahead of the Sony conference at Gamescom are now claiming something else entirely, VG247 reports.

The Gamescom source has said that the PS4 will launch in late November, and that the Xbox One will beat it to the market in at least one territory- most likely the US (although it might be Europe as Sony tries to beat Microsoft to the punch in what has traditionally been its weakest market, and Microsoft tries to take on Sony in ‘PlayStation Land’).

For now, this is still a rumor, but we’ll know for sure before the day is up, so stay tuned to GamingBolt, and our extensive Gamescom coverage.
