Rune Factory 3 Special

Earlier this year, Marvelous confirmed that Rune Factory 3 Special will be launching for the Nintendo Switch in Japan in March of 2023, but a Western release date is yet to be confirmed for the expanded remaster. At the time of its announcement, it was given a Spring 2023 launch window in the West, though a specific release date remains unknown as yet. That, however, could change soon.

Rune Factory 3 Special has been rated for the Nintendo Switch by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Certifications for games generally tend to happen when they’re relatively closer to launch, suggesting that the remastered farming sim could be approaching release in North America. An official announcement hasn’t yet been made by either Marvelous or XSEED Games, which generally handles Western localization and publishing for the former- though if the game is indeed getting closer to launch, one would imagine an announcement won’t be too far away.

In Japan, Rune Factory 3 Special is out on March 2. A new mainline Rune Factory game is also in development.
