It was only a matter of time, but having gone through hellfire, brimstone and punching Belgians in the face, Volition has released a new trailer for Saints Row IV which reveals that Johnny Gat is, indeed, back.

OF course, given that the majority of the game takes in place in a virtual representation of Steelport, it’s assumed that this is only a VR version of Gat. Given his fate (and subsequent “return”) in Saints Row The Third, it’s doubtful if Gat will actually exist in the living flesh again. But for now, he’s up and about and killing things, and it is glorious.

Perfunctory gameplay footage also featured in case Gat being back wasn’t enough for you (starring Gat killing things).

Saints Row IV is set to release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on August 20th in North America and August 23rd in Europe. It has subsequently been refused certification in Australia.
