Developer Volition and publisher Deep Silver have been showing off their upcoming open world action-adventure reboot Saints Row quite freely since they first announced it earlier this year, and as promised, they kept that going with a brand new trailer at The Game Awards 2021.
There isn’t anything particularly new in the trailer per se, but there is plenty of fresh gameplay footage to check out. Series fans have been concerned that the more grounded nature of the reboot might mean that it will lose the series’ trademark bombastic and over-the-top charms, but it doesn’t seem like there will be anything to fear on that front- from combat to traversal to sandbox and open world activities, it seems like there’s plenty of explosive action for players to dive into. Saints Row will launch on August 23, 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
