SNK is looking to be back in a big way with the return of Samurai Shodown. The game has been a success all around for the company, it seems, so much so its invading other fighting franchises. And it also looks to be keeping a steady stream of fighters as we know have the release date for the next one, Shizumaru Hisame.

Hisame was announced alongside the confirming of a second season for the swords and sandals fighter, but no solid date was given. The character was introduced in Samurai Shodown III originally as a young man who cannot remember his past, including his own name, taking only the name from his sword. He wields some type of demonic powers, as you can see in the bloody trailer below, making him a fierce fighter.

Samurai Shodown is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and Hisame will release for both on September 16th and be free. The game will also come to the Switch in December, along with versions announced for both Stadia and PC.
