Samurai Warriors 5 is Out Now

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force's newest musou action game Samurai Warriors 5 is out now for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s Samurai Warriors 5 launched in Japan about a month ago, and today, the game has released in the rest of the world as well. A launch trailer has also been released, showing snippets of the musou action title’s gameplay, which you can check out below.

Koei Tecmo has billed Samurai Warriors 5 is a reimagining of the franchise. While it does, of course, retain the large-scale battles the series is known for, it revamps the formula in several other ways, featuring a new visual style, character designs, storyline, and more.

Samurai Warriors 5 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, while a demo of the game is also available for anyone who wants to give it a test drive. In our review of the game, we said, “Samurai Warriors 5 makes the series stand out from Koei’s other games and updates the musou formula in smart ways, but unfortunately cuts too much of what worked in the past to make it universally recommendable to hardcore fans.” You can read our full review through here.
