Though Bandai Namco has another action RPG coming up soon with Tales of Arise, it’s worth noting the other hack and slash title it recently dropped. Taking inspiration from all sorts of titles, from Tales to God Eater, Scarlet Nexus received some fairly positive reviews when it released in June. A new trailer has been released which highlights some of that praise so check it out below.

Scarlet Nexus takes place in the brainpunk future city New Himuka. Science has made strong headway, awakening the psychic gene in humans but when the mysterious Others attack, it’s up to the OSF to use its psychic powers to fight them off. The story features two protagonists, Yuito and Kasane, who each use psychokinesis but can leverage their teammates’ unique abilities with the Struggle Arms System.

Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC, Scarlet Nexus was praised for its combat and aesthetic (even if the story can be a little too esoteric). For more details, you can check out our official review here.
