Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus is out next month and several previews have gone live from various publications to discuss how it plays. Game Informer, for instance, has new gameplay which you can see below. The developer also confirmed a demo that would be “coming soon” to Xbox Series X/S.

Some new details on the psychic abilities, especially when the player picks up a “special” object to fling at an opponent, have also been revealed. If you pick up a boulder and split it in half, for instance, then you move the controller in line with the actions. It’s described as somewhat like a quick time event but plays into the combat very well.

While we’ve heard quite a bit about the Struggle Arms System (SAS), which allows for using your companions’ psychic abilities, they aren’t just limited to elemental abilities like Pyrokinesis. Some allies can provide an unlimited Psi gauge while others can trigger multiple objects at once in an area. Overall, the mechanics seem to be shaping up pretty well.

Scarlet Nexus is out on June 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more details and a date for the demo in the coming days.
