Sea of Thieves Crosses 15 Million Players

Rare's seafaring adventure continues to enjoy great success.

Rare’s pirate utopia Sea of Thieves has been going from strength to strength following a disappointing launch, and the excellent work that the developer has put in to turn the ship around has reflected in great success for the game. Just in January, for instance, it was confirmed that the game had crossed 10 million players in total since launch, and now, it has crossed another major landmark.

Rare have announced that Sea of Thieves has surpassed 15 million players since launch. It has had more players in the first half of 2020 than it did in all of 2019, which, in turn, was more than what it saw in 2018. Clearly, the game is on an upward climb, which is more than fair, considering how it’s been getting progressively better as time passes. It recently launched on Steam and had a successful release on the storefront, which surely must have helped out with those numbers.

Sea of Thieves is available now on Xbox One and PC.
