Shadow Warrior Receives Eight New Screenshots

Lo Wang is making a comeback for PC and PS4.

Devolver Digital’s reboot of the 1997 first person shooter from 3D Realms, Shadow Warrior, has received eight new screenshots indicating gameplay. Check them out below.

Shadow Warrior follows Lo Wang on his quest to stop Zilla Industries from taking over Japan – along with the usual themes of honour, revenge and samurai loyalty. Also samurai mechs.

But Devolver Digital’s title will be a bit different. Releasing on PlayStation 4 and PC, the game will be more politically correct in the sense that it will “avoid racial stereotyping and misogyny and things like that” according to the developer Flying Wild Hog. They might want to start on changing up Wang’s name entirely though – just too many connotations in it.

The reboot will also remove the multiplayer inherent in the old game. No release date has been offered as of yet, but we imagine that the new Shadow Warrior should release sometime next year.
