Ys Net’s Shenmue 3 has been in the prototype stage for a while now but it will be entering full-scale production soon according to creator Yu Suzuki.

In conversation with Famitsu, Suzuki said that, “Development is entering the final stage headed towards full-scale production.” More footage will be showcased next year and we’ll see the game’s final look coming together.

“We will continue progressing with development so that our backers and those who experience the world of Shenmue for the first time can do so with pleasure.” Keep in mind that a release date is still a ways off so don’t get your hopes up.

Suzuki also noted that PC pre-orders would begin tomorrow through the game’s official website. Shenmue 3 is currently in development for PS4 and PC. Though funded through Kickstarter, Sony also has a hand in production with an announcement having occurred at E3 2015. When do you think it will finally release? Let us know below.
