Those who didn’t play the first two can get a recap.
We’re just a month away now from a release that most people never expected to ever happen with Shenmue 3. The sequel was originally crowd-funded and has since found a publisher (and gone through some controversy with how an exclusive deal was handled). The game has gone gold now, and today we got a special video breaking down the game’s story.
In the video, Director Yu Suzuki reassures people that you won’t be totally lost if you haven’t played the first two games. There will be a recap video. There will also be scenes that features memories of what happened with certain characters. The rest of the video is Suzuki talking about the relationship between Ryo and Shenhua, which is one of the key driving points of the story (thanks to Twinfinite for translations).
Shenmue 3 will release on November 19th. If you don’t happen to speak or read Japanese, there was an English version of the original Prophecy trailer which you can see through here.
