The long awaited sequel ships early for many backers.
It’s been a long journey for Shenmue fans, but we are almost there. After a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, followed by an up and down series of controversies and a delay, Shenmue 3 is now less than a week away from being on store shelves. But it seems that fans may not have to wait that long, especially those that were eager enough to back the original Kickstarter.
Many backers have reported getting emails that their backer copies have now shipped. It’s not clear when the game will actually get to their hands mind you, but shipping so early could mean those lucky few will get the game a few days early. It also seems that a lot of stories in some regions are breaking street date on the game.
Shenmue 3 officially releases on November 19th for PlayStation 4 and PC, but as you can see, some people may manage to get the game a tad early. Either way, while you wait, you can see trailers for the game’s combat and settings.
