Shepard and everybody else can die in Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 is the epic ending to the Mass Effect trilogy, so obviously, there will be a lot of deaths. We knew all along that Shepard could die in ME3 (ig he isn’t already dead in your ME2 save files), but BioWare says there is an ending in the game that features all main characters dying.

BioWare community manager Mike Gamble said so at gamescom while talking to NowGamer. When asked if there was an ending in the game which would see Shepard failing to defeat the Reapers, he responded by saying “Yes” twice.

Shepard’s success will depend on, of course, how many forces you amass to fight against the Reapers, and if those forces are loyal to you. A lot of choices are supposed to come together in ME3, and we can’t wait to see how everything will play out.

There was an ending in Mass Effect 2 that saw Shepard dying. So this shouldn’t come as a big shock, really, especially seeing as the stakes in the game are much higher than the predecessor.

A lot of new info on the game was released in the recent info blowout. Check it out here. A new gameplay trailer and new screens were also released at Gamescom.

Here’s ten reasons why we think you should get excited about Mass Effect 3.
