Should The Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 Do Away With A Class Based System?

It would possibly be a continuation of what Skyrim did.

The Elder Scrolls Online (6)

When Skyrim was first being rolled out, there were plenty of people who were up in arms about the fact that Bethesda had done away with the strict class system that had been included in other Elder Scrolls games. It turns out that the change in the system seems to have worked out just fine, considering that the game was easily the most popular in the long running larger series. So the question is, should the designers bring back the class system, leave it out entirely or come up with a new system altogether.

We’ve been talking a lot about what should be in the next installment of the series because we don’t really have any idea if there will be a next installment. Bethesda hasn’t even said for sure that there will be a Skyrim 2 or Elder Scrolls 6. It seems like a no-brainer considering the depths that are available to be plumbed on the current generation consoles. While some people wanted class systems to be included in Skyrim, it sure seems as though there were plenty of people who were able to find a way to have plenty of fun being able to upgrade any skills they wanted.

It makes sense, especially if the next game is indeed another Skyrim that the class system would be left out. That is where they started making the change and it’s where it should continue. We’ll just have to wait and see if Bethesda agrees with us when they bring Skyrim 2 or Elder Scrolls 6.

This article is part of our weekly series on Bethesda’s next big entry into the world of The Elder Scrolls. Through this series we take a look at the possible new features that Bethesda can add into the next The Elder Scrolls game, based on what they implemented in the previous entries and player feedback.
