The first playthrough offers a "specific" outcome, says writer Ryukishi07, but players can unlock new endings in follow-up runs.

Silent Hill f is veering a bit off course from previous mainline titles with its rural Japanese setting and lack of connections. But the more things change, the more they stay the same, and that applies to the multiple possible endings. Konami and NeoBards Entertainment confirmed the same to Polygon in a recent Tokyo press event.

The signature “dog” ending remains up in the air, but the “UFO” ending has been confirmed. Interestingly, NeoBards is taking a slightly different approach, offering a “specific” ending after finishing the story once. This was to ensure the player experienced a “purposefully crafted story” per writer Ryukishi07. Different endings become available in subsequent playthroughs and hinge on your choices, though there isn’t a “black and white” distinction on which ones are good or bad.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s also New Game Plus. It includes “different” boss battles (which could mean changes to existing fights alongside new additions), additional cinematics with “new story developments,” and “expanded exploration.”

Silent Hill f launches on September 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here to learn more about its combat and puzzle gameplay. You can also look forward to a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th.
