Silent Hill f is a momentous occasion for the resurgent franchise since it’s the first mainline title since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour. Reviews are expected to go live in a little over a week, reveals Metacritic, but some impressions have seemingly leaked ahead of time.

On the Silent Hill subreddit, a user named Elena Chapella, who writes for DualShockers, revealed their impressions. Calling it “genuinely spectacular,” they described combat as teetering on Souls-like “but not completely.” “It’s challenging, you have to pick and choose your battles in typical Silent Hill fashion.”

The post has since been removed (check it out here courtesy of VGC’s Andy Robinson), but they’ve already finished the story and begun a New Game+ playthrough, which is already confirmed to offer new bosses and cinematics. In a now-deleted comment, they claimed that their deadline was September 22nd, but since advanced access for Deluxe Edition owners begins the next day, the actual embargo could lift by then.

As always, stay tuned for more details. Silent Hill f launches worldwide on September 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our feature for everything you should know.
