Silent Hill: Townfall can prove to be a hard game if you choose to play on difficulties other than Story Mode. While health and revival consumables may seem plentiful, they are both finite resources, and your best strategy would be to hold on to them so that they can be combined with other items into better variants for additional benefits.
This guide for Silent Hill: Townfall lists all healing and reviving consumable items to be found in the game, as well as how to combine them for more effective use.
Gauze
Used to heal a small amount of health.
Even the most basic healing consumable is a finite resource, but it can usually be found in logical locations. Medicine cabinets within bathrooms at apartments and houses are reliable spots. The clinic is another great source, as are any first aid boxes you may stumble upon. A handful of corpses have Gauze for you to loot as well.
With roughly 60 pieces of Gauze to be found across the game, you should try and avoid using it on its own especially during the mid to late game.
Sterilized Gauze
Used to heal a moderate amount of health.
Sterilized Gauze heals almost double the amount as plain Gauze, and is accessible by both Simon and Zoe across their chapters.
Crafting this consumable contributes to the ‘From Scratch’ achievement/trophy which requires you to “create 20 new items by combining others”.
First Aid Kit
Used to heal a large amount of health.
A very precious few First Aid Kits are available for you to find and use over the various chapters. These provide a significant boost to health, and should be held in reserve for the worst case scenario combat sequences.
IV Fluid
A vial of IV fluid, can be used with an empty IV Bag.
Unusable on its own, IV Fluid has around a dozen potential pickups over the entire course of the game, and Zoe cannot access any of them.
Empty IV Bag
An empty IV bag, can be filled with IV Fluid.
Also unusable on its own, the Empty IV Bag can be combined with IV Fluid in order to fill it up and create the Filled IV Bag.
Filled IV Bag
If equipped, revives Simon should the worst happen. Grants a small amount of health in the process.
This consumable effectively acts as an additional life for Simon, and activates automatically as long as it is equipped, as opposed to just in the inventory. Once resurrected, Simon will also be granted a small amount of health with which to make good his escape from any imminent danger.
Crafting this consumable contributes to the ‘From Scratch’ achievement/trophy which requires you to “create 20 new items by combining others”.
Antibiotics
No use on its own, but can be used with other items.
This item cannot be used on its own, but can be combined with the Filled IV Bag to craft the Enhanced IV Bag. Antibiotics are even rarer than IV Fluid and Empty IV Bags are, so don’t expect to craft an equivalent number of Enhanced IV Bags by hoarding Filled IV Bags.
Enhanced IV Bag
If equipped, revives Simon should the worst happen. Also fully replenishes health in the process.
The ultimate health and revival consumable, the Enhanced IV Bag doesn’t just resurrect Simon instantly, it also restores him to full health. As such, these should act as your final safety net beyond First Aid Kits, reserved for the very hardest sections of the game.
Crafting this consumable contributes to the ‘From Scratch’ achievement/trophy which requires you to “create 20 new items by combining others”.
Those are all the health and revival consumables to be found in Silent Hill: Townfall as well as how to combine them for enhanced variants.
