Silent Hill: Townfall is one of many games launching in one of the year’s busiest periods, and as reviews go live, Konami has released a launch trailer teasing more terrors. If you’re wondering what could be worse than the shambling flesh people that protagonist Simon Ordell has to deal with, feast your eyes on the leviathan-sized, tentacled horror at the start.

Of course, that’s not all, as we also see the different weapons he’ll wield, from a large wrench to a double-barreled shotgun and a flare gun. One previously unseen enemy actually flees when confronted, requiring you to hunt it down before it presumably lunges at you when least expected.

But more than anything, the trailer emphasizes that Simon’s memories have been muddled. He’s told to “put things right,” which involves finding the mysterious Zoe Ellis, but “needs more time.” At one point, we see a doorway with multiple scratches, as if marking the time. Perhaps he’s been on this particular journey of redemption more than once, not unlike what many believe for James Sutherland in Silent Hill 2?

Whatever the case may be, we’ll find out when Silent Hill: Townfall launches on September 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review for more details – we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the story, setting, and combat.
