Heart Machine has announced a delay for its upcoming action adventure title Solar Ash. It was originally meant to release on October 26th but will now launch on December 2nd. In a new tweet, the developer said that it wants the game to shine and that “we need a bit more time to get the last pieces of polish and bug fixes into the game.” Of course, it wants to do this while still feeling the effects of the pandemic, hence the delay.
Heart Machine is known for Hyper Light Drifter, a sci-fi Zelda-like title with stunning pixel art. Solar Ash is a very big departure from this, being in full 3D and emphasizing movement and platforming. The story follows Rei, a Voidrunner who ventures into the Ultravoid to potentially save her planet. She encounters various surreal happenings and the remnants of fallen civilizations on top of battling towering Sentinels.
Solar Ash is coming to PS4, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. It will benefit from the PS5’s DualSense controller, though the developer hasn’t yet gone into too much detail. Stay tuned for more details on the title en route to its new release date.
