Frictional Games’ Soma is expected to start its first beta test in the next four weeks, if everything “goes according to plan”.

Posting on Facebook, Frictional stated that, “If all goes according to plan the beta for SOMA, our upcoming sci-fi horror game, will be done in four weeks. It feels both exciting and scary that the game is really nearly completed now.

“After several years of hard work, release is finally a clearly visible milestone. Note that we already have all the testers we need, so no need to make requests. Game is still incomplete so just hang in there a little longer, and you’ll get the polished and proper version to immerse yourself in.”

While we’re missing the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the newest horror title from the famed studio behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, this at least indicates it’s closer to release. Soma’s beta will be on the PS4 and PC – stay tuned for more information in the coming month.
