Frictional Games has finally provided an update on its upcoming first person survival horror Soma which will be releasing for PS4 and PC.

The official Twitter account said, “Sorry all for the silence! We’re closing in on Beta and everyone’s working hard to get there. Once that’s done, we’ll reveal more!”

It would be interesting (but unlikely) if a public beta test was held for users to play-test the game. At this point we can hope for a demo but at least Soma is well into development at this point. The developer also released a new screenshot for the game which you can see above.

Frictional Games is responsible for the classic first person horror Amnesia: The Dark Descent which arguably brought horror gaming back from the brink and into the spotlight. Soma currently has no release date but it’s expected to release some time this year. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
