Sega’s Sonic Frontiers is out today, but those who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition may want to wait before jumping in. The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account reveals that you must have the DLC installed before starting a new game.

If the DLC is installed after the tutorial area, then it won’t be valid. The most recent patch should also be installed before the DLC. If you pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition on Xbox, the digital art book might not be in your library. It may necessitate manually searching for and downloading it from the Xbox Store.

Sonic Frontiers will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It’s the first “open-zone” title in the series, combining open-world mechanics with fast-paced 3D platforming. It also has Cyber Space Stages, which are inspired by stages from previous Sonic titles.
