Sonic Origins was announced for a 2022 launch last year, and though updates on the collection had dried up since then, recent developments had suggested that more details on it would be shared soon. Now, those details have arrived, with Sonic announcing a June launch date for the collection, as well as new details on its several enhancements and additions.

Sonic Origins – which compiles Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic CD – will feature higher resolution visuals and new opening and ending animations for each game. Players will also be able to complete several missions to earn coins, which, in turn, can be spent to to unlock new content, challenges, and Special Stages in the Museum.

Interestingly, each game will also feature both Classic and Anniversary modes, with the former featuring the game’s original resolution and having limited lives, and the latter having a revamped fullscreen resolution and unlimited lives.

Sega has also announced several editions for Sonic Origins, each coming with different bonuses. You can get all of those details below. Pre-ordering the game will also net players with the Start Dash DLC pack, which includes 100 in-game Bonus Coins, a themed letterbox background to customize your playthrough, and the new Mirror Mode unlocked right out the gate.

Sonic Origins launches on June 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
