When Sony first revealed Project Morpheus, their virtual reality headset technology, they talked about how their ambition was to turn this potentially large market of gaming into more of a social experience, and used several quite unique terms, such as couch co-op multiplayer, to describe the link up play between the PS4 and the Vita.

It seems like Sony were actually much more serious about their ideas than we thought they would be. They’ve gone on to trademark terms such as “Couch Multiplayer”, “Social Virtual Reality”, “Social Screen” and “Social VR”, reports Trademark Bot on Twitter.
