Sony Interactive Entertainment "currently" has no plans for an exhibit at the upcoming trade show, much like in previous years.

Similar to last year, Sony won’t be attending Gamescom. The PS5 manufacturer told German industry magazine Gameswirtschaft that it “currently” has no plans for an exhibit at Gamescom 2024 (translation via DeepL).

For many fans, this is hardly surprising. The company’s last appearance at the annual trade show was in 2019. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, it stuck to the State of Plays and PlayStation Showcases to hype future releases. This isn’t to say that its games couldn’t appear during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase.

With Concord launching on August 23rd and Astro Bot on September 6th, it would be the perfect opportunity to market both releases. As always, however, time will tell.

The only other publisher confirmed to skip Gamescom is Nintendo, with THQ Nordic and Ubisoft confirmed to attend. Xbox hasn’t announced its attendance, though it was present last year and rumored to bring even more titles to this year’s show. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
