Splinter Cell: Blacklist has gone gold, meaning the upcoming stealth action title is now ready for manufacturing and shipping on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U for its release date on August 20th in North America (August 23rd in Europe).

Senior producer Alex Parizeau recently spoke to IGN about the same, stating that, “We couldn’t be more proud of our team. This is a huge accomplishment for Ubisoft Toronto and for the studios that collaborated with us on this ambitious project – Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Pune. Splinter Cell Blacklist is the first project to go gold in our studio, and I can tell you the atmosphere here is electric.”

Following the storyline from Splinter Cell: Conviction, Blacklist sees Sam Fisher return to head up Fourth Echelon and work to stop a new threat in The Blacklist. The game will reportedly see a return to old Splinter Cell mechanics will embracing three unique styles of play.
