Ubisoft has finally confirmed Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist is heading to the Wii U. Originally announced for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the game will be arriving for Nintendo’s console on August 23rd. Ubisoft have also released a new trailer announcing the same, along with screenshots showcasing the use of the Wii U Gamepad and the official box art.

Being on the Wii U means having to take advantage of the Gamepad and while we’re not sure there will be Off-TV Play, Splinter Cell: Blacklist will allow you to use gadgets, navigate maps, switch between weapons – along with inventory management – and execute Killing in Motion more efficiently using the device with the touchscreen in particular coming in handy.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will have fans return as Sam Fisher, as he leads the newly formed Fourth Echelon on a mission to stop a new terror threat called The Blacklist from claiming the country.
