Following massive fan backlash, Square Enix has now hidden its contentious $70 price tag from Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Epic Games Store listing.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

Recently, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade for the PC platform, with a release date of December 16th. However, the publishing giant also introduced its $70 pricing for PC with the remake as well as the upcoming Forspoken- which, as you might have expected, has been the subject of mass criticism as of late.

In response to this, Square Enix has now removed the price from the Epic Games Store listing of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. The store page now shows “coming soon” instead of the previous $70 price tag. Interestingly enough, Forspoken’s Steam page still shows the same $70 price tag as earlier.

What this means for the game is still unknown at this point, but it would certainly be great if Square Enix retracts its decision to increase prices for games on PC. Of course, it’s likely that they’ve simply hidden the price tag for now so that it doesn’t draw as much criticism as it has. The $70 price tag has been one of the biggest points of contention amongst players this generation- you can read more on that through here.
