Star Citizen Trailer Reveals New Colony Ship ‘Pioneer’ at CitizenCon

This ship will allow players to develop outposts.

At this year’s CitizenCon, Cloud Imperium Games’ focus was on the multiplayer experience and not on the single-player campaign titled Squadron 42.  One of the more exciting announcements for fans at the event was that of the ‘Pioneer’, a colony ship that will allow anyone to deploy their own outpost on a planet. Following this, the outpost may be developed into a settlement.

The Consolidated Outland Pioneer is currently being sold for $915 with all proceeds going towards development. If you cannot afford to spend that much on it, there’s no need to worry as the ship may also be bought with in-game credits once the game officially launches.

In light of this announcement, CIG released a video which details everything about the Pioneer. The video manages to evoke a sense of wonder and also the joy of exploring the unknown. Hopefully, players will be able to experience this for themselves sooner rather than later.
