Star Wars Battlefront

More details have emerged regarding Star Wars: Battlefront’s Drop Zone mode which be playable in the upcoming beta this October. Lead level designer Dennis Brännvall discussed it in a new EA blog post and details provided suggest that it resembles King of the Hill very closely.

This 8v8 mode sees players of both sides rushing to capture five drop pods or hold the most number of pods before time is up. In case of a draw, an additional pod joins the battle, which must then be captured. It should be noted that the pods open to reveal Power-ups after which more pods will drop. It’s an interesting mode of sorts that encourages both capturing and holding points along with rushing to assault.

“We’re promoting the idea of a fast, action-packed game where you need to be mobile and think on your feet. Camping doesn’t really pay off.”

Star Wars: Battlefront releases in November for Xbox One, PS4 and PC while the beta goes live in early October. It will be available for anyone who signs up so stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
