Star Wars: Galactic Racer has been a priority for us ever since we first heard of it. A racer from the minds behind Burnout was already a major part of its draw. But the chance to pilot iconic vehicles from the franchise in a tournament by the galaxy’s criminal organizations is something you don’t see every day. Of course, piloting a Podracer is among the things we’re most excited about, especially with how long it’s been since the launch of Star Wars Episode 1: Racer.
The feeling’s only exacerbated by a new look at the iconic machine, with Ardennian engineer Hibi giving us a rundown of how it’s tailored for those of you who like high-risk, high-reward stakes on the tracks. Podracers can achieve very high speeds quickly, but you’ll have to master the Air Brake and Afterburner to stay ahead of your rivals. The Landspeeders might be a safer bet if that kind of playstyle isn’t for you, though.
Speaking of rivals, we got to see Sebulba from The Phantom Menace, and he’s as smug as ever. That’s understandable, given his reputation as a ruthless contestant, but we can’t wait to face him with style and speed when Star Wars: Galactic Racer hits shelves on October 6th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
