Despite several technical issues at launch, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is successful, with Electronic Arts touting “millions of players.” In its Q1 2024 earnings call (as reported by IGN), it announced that Respawn Entertainment was bringing the action-adventure title to Xbox One and PS4. The port is in the “early stages of development” and a release window wasn’t provided.
However, those on current-gen platforms can still look forward to improvements. The publisher stated, “Additional performance improvements for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S remain a top priority at Respawn, and the team will share more information as soon as the next update is ready.”
Several titles are released for current-gen and previous titles, even first-party exclusives like Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok. However, this is one of the few instances where a current-gen title has been ported to a previous generation after launch. Then again, with the number of Xbox One and PS4 consoles out there (more so the latter), it’s understandable for Electronic Arts to capitalize on it.
Whether Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can run on those platforms after the issues on the current generation remains to be seen, so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, check out our review of the PS5 version here.
