Following the official launch trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, Massive’s creative director Julian Gerighty joined the Xbox @ Gamescom 2024 livestream to discuss more extensive gameplay. Set on Akiva, a location only featured in the Aftermath books till now, players embark on a mission to find the Droidsmith. Check it out below courtesy of IGN.

Before that, the look and feel of Myrra, Akiva’s main city, is revealed. Gerighty discussed it as a location with complex politics and dynamics, with the Pykes and Hutts fighting it out, to say nothing of the Empire’s presence. After venturing to the local cantina and upgrading her Blaster module for a faster fire rate, she ventures on her Speeder.

While exploring Akiva, players can encounter events like an Imperial shuttle landing (which you can choose to mess with immediately or revisit later). Upon arriving at the mission marker, you’ll discover a massive Imperial Compound where he’s held. There are multiple ways to infiltrate, but going in guns blazing isn’t advised, especially with AT-STs guarding the gate.

After sneaking through, Kay discovers she has a past with the Droidsmith, who isn’t too happy to see her. From there, she must escape, shooting down Stormtroopers and activating Adrenaline Shot for insta-kills. Of course, you can revisit the compound later for treasures, though further details are pending.

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for more details on Kay’s companions, Nyx and ND-5.
